I have worked as a Spanish tutor for more than twenty years. For over a decade, much of my work has taken place within Buenos Aires’ diplomatic community, supporting ambassadors, consuls, officials and their families at different stages of their postings.

I have worked with representatives of various embassies and consulates, both in person and online. Some began their classes before travelling to Argentina; others, once they had settled in the country. In some cases, the aim was to acquire the first tools of the language; in others, to broaden their range of registers, organise knowledge gained through experience or communicate more precisely in specific professional situations.

This work has given me a close understanding of the particularities of the diplomatic sphere: its communication conventions, working rhythms, professional demands and relationships with authorities, institutions and figures in local political and cultural life.

Drawing on this understanding, I recognise that learning cannot be organised in the same way for everyone. The needs of an ambassador, a consul, an official or a member of a diplomatic family differ. Each programme therefore begins with an assessment of the student’s previous experience, responsibilities and individual goals.

Over the years, my students have particularly valued the combination of a solid theoretical foundation with practical, dynamic and personalised teaching methods, as well as the ability to adapt to the complexities and demands of the diplomatic world.

This experience is the starting point for Hemisferio Sur. My aim is not to teach a uniform formula for communication, but to support each student in developing a precise, natural way of expressing themselves that is their own, enabling them to participate with greater confidence and autonomy in the country’s professional, social and cultural life.
